About me

My background sets me apart from many coaches. Usually I work with clients looking for someone who has lived it and been there, with senior leadership experience and an understanding of the business environment.

As a Managing Director and CEO in roles spanning US blue-chip internationals, UK and Private Equity backed companies, I've led and empowered large global, regional and local teams encompassing many different cultures and complex matrix managed organisations – with a record of success in turnaround and growth. I've moved jobs and sectors many times, been through periods of redundancy and changed direction when I haven't been happy. All this, in addition to being a father of two, gives me a wealth of context and understanding to call upon.

My coaching style

Every client and every situation is different, but a coaching session gives you the time out to take a helicopter view, step back and reflect. I act as a sounding board, listening, being curious, helping with insights and offering different lenses through which to view situations and explore options. I guide through the thinking to craft and develop actions that will bring positive change, and I encourage and support experimentation with new behaviours.

Words used to describe my style have been personable, supportive, curious, encouraging, insightful, understanding, collaborative, trusting, and challenging when needed.

I am a Certified Coach accredited with the International Coaching Federation and I adhere to its code of ethics and confidentiality (see link). My training was with Barefoot Coaching, a highly respected and renowned industry leader.
